在飛機上看《傲慢與偏見》乃半夢半醒中，看到Darcy向Elizabeth 首次表白的時候，是當Elizabeth因避雨而走進一個類似Pavilion 的東西裡面。當我一看到一個wide shot的時候，頓時醒了過來 － 那不是Stourhead 的 Temple of Apollo嗎？哇，下雨 ＋ 表白，很浪漫哩！真可惜，Darcy第一次就失敗了．．． 翻出原著來查看，Darcy向Elizabeth第一次表白應該是在屋內的，是導演決定用Stourhead嗎？以Picturesque的庭園為backdrop，他真的很會製造浪漫氣氛！
記得大學三年班時有讀過Stourhead，一看見老師放的slide，我就輕輕地叫了起來：嘩．．．真的很美．．．坐在身旁的同學跟我說：如果我們真的到英國去實習，就可以去了。但結果，的確是去了實習，卻把這仙境一般的地方遺忘了。可恨的是，上幾次回到英國時我竟然也想不起這個地方；下次如果會再去英國的話，我一定要到這裡一趟。

Believe it or not, I happened to watch this movie last night le. When I saw you wrote《傲慢與偏見》minutes ago, I thought to myself: No way, what a coincidence.
Some shots in this movie were taken rather nice & romantic indeed.
yeah, it should be in Elizbeth's room, as in the BBC's series. but i think the director's interpreatation and modification was full of romantic atmosphere! the landscape, the rain, the close-up and the conversation...
really a coincidence...my sis colleague aslo talk on this topic yesterday...
Actually, before I watched the movie, I was able to read the first chapter of the novel only. The introduction of the two characters is quite interesting, I just didn't expected those outstanding personalities from them. To tell the truth, I think Jane Austen really did a great job on molding and describing people.
Hehhe, great that people seems to talk about this alot, I always hope that people won't find those classics boring!

In the movie, besides the nice scenes & choreographies, I enjoyed both the music & how the director zoomed in on certain characters' facial expression.

"Boring people" 是指沉悶的人吧？典型如比較自閉內向少說話之類嗎？似乎這些人反而很喜歡閱讀。
讀一篇小說，最難莫過於要創建一個世界來收納人和事。與電視電影動畫等不同的，是讀者首先要對其世界觀或時代背景有一定的認識，不論是過去、現在或未來；除非作者用很多筆墨去描寫和解釋。相反電視電影動畫將其視象化，看就看吧。
若一個人活在一個過去現在將來都不曾有過戰爭的世界，從沒有國家版圖概念，那「天下大勢，分久必合，合久必分」這句話就很難產生共鳴了。
以休閒形式去看《傲慢與偏見》，應該是最理想，看得津津有味。無奈學校很喜觀這部作品，為了寫essay而速讀，應該是最痛苦，悶極而泣。
i think it's healthy to have some "boring" time. consider that as a "break" from those too colouful stuffs...i think reading can purify ourselves....but i have read so little recently :<

When I used the word "boring", I was using it as an irony - i.e. Those people who find world-class classics nothing but boring, they're boring themselves. Though their schedules may be packed with events & activities, the lack of high quality literature reading make their speeches & writings "boring" in some sense.
As an architect yourself, I suppose you wouldn't question the importance of quality reading, would you?
... Of course, besides reading, you also have an insatiable appetite for imagination, creativity, travelling & .... .... snoozzzzzzing.

I kept thinking, if they're that famous, they should have a certain level of interest. That's how I insist on reading classics. When i was in London, I lived very close to the Shakespeare's Globe which prompted me to read Shakespeare's works. Those old English are really 'interesting' that it took me about 2 weeks to understand 'a midsummer night's dream' before I watched the play. For the second play (As u like it) that I picked before I left London, I dun have enough time to understand the story but the interesting presentation of the play was so entertaining that it doesn't matter anymore.
